**Overview**
****This position is Remote. Candidates must reside in California.****
**Purpose Statement/Position Summary:** The team is accountable for verifying insurances, as well as initiating and obtaining authorizations for upcoming patient appointments. The Eligibility & Authorization Rep II, under moderate supervision, performs tasks associated requesting and obtaining authorizations. Organizes, updates, and maintains a worklist documenting progressing on tasks. Serves as the primary liaison between patient, CHLA, and third-party payers in answering questions and arranging payment. Answers and screens incoming calls while providing excellent customer service.
**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:** 2+ years’ experience in medical office setting or hospital performing financial clearance processes. Verifying Insurances, HMO, PPO, Medicare, and Medi-Cal knowledge required. Requesting and Obtaining Authorizations experience highly preferred. CCS experience preferred. Call center experience a plus. Quality and reliable internet service is a must in a remote environment.

• Verifying insurance and how to initiate an authorization.
• Be able to work on something else while on hold with a payer.
• Communication skills with both team and clinic.
• Effective teamwork skills, positive attitude, flexibility with learning additional clinics, detail oriented, and multi-tasking skills.
• Accustomed to meeting productivity metrics, passion for caring for patients, nice phone presence, desire to learn and grow.
**Education/Licensure/Certification:** High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
**Pay Scale Information**
$38,272.00-$65,062.00

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
