Roles and Responsibilities
Undertakes Electronics/ELV and Electrical design elements for complex and major projects in a design engineer role. Prepares design calculations, drawings/sketches specifications, and data sheets based on the specific requirements of the project assigned by Team Leader Report writing, author’s official documents e.g. letters, reports, minutes of meetings, presentation, etc. Contributes inputs for analysis results for reports. Provides and reviews Electronics/ELV and Electrical design calculations and drawings. Represents Arup at external meetings and attend and participate kick-off meetings on various projects. Prepares internal and external minutes of the meeting. Participates in client meeting with higher level engineers. Coordinates work with other disciplines. Assist in conducting site inspection for quality control and verification. Conducts site inspection for quality control and verification and conduct building services survey for buildings. Documents and archives projects related documents such as: correspondences, drawings and reports. Work closely with the Building Services (MEPF) engineers. Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines. Timely submission and accuracy of output based on required standards. Fulfils other responsibilities assigned from time to time. Author’s official documents such as letters, minutes of the meeting and design reports. Develops, organizes events and activities, processes of some complex projects. Skills and Qualifications
Registered Engineer in Electronics Communications Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a relevant engineering discipline. With programming skills and experience is a must. Programming software such as Visual Basic, C-Plus, C-sharp, MathLab, etc. Experience in the preparation of technical design information, engineering drawings, equipment schedules, specifications. Able to provide and develop design calculations, develop detailed drawings and prepare specifications. Be able to demonstrate strong design ability and engineering solutions on major and/or complex projects. Engineering design skills and knowledge in building services system Sanitary Extensive knowledge of different soft-wares such as Carrier E-20, Trace, Elite, etc. (for design analysis) is essentials. Familiar with international and local design standards and codes such as: (i.e. US standards, BS, JIS, etc.) Excellent communications skills (both written and oral) essential for team-based working and must be able to prepare project correspondences and reports. Experience in contributing reports and in communicating on technical issues through general correspondence. Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills Excellent skills with Microsoft applications (word, excel, PowerPoint) Working knowledge of AutoCAD, knowledge in Revit MEP and BIM is a plus. Must be motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges. Must be able to maintain and develop successful client relationships and must be a team player and keen learner. Able to work independently with minimum supervision and should be a team player and open to co-ordinating with engineers of other trades / inter-disciplinary coordination. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential Must be willing to be assigned to project site and shall be readily available to conduct site inspection and survey.
