The High Consequence Missions (HCM) business area is seeking an Embedded Engineer Intern for the summer of 2025, in the Dulles, Virginia area **.** Candidates must be professional, self-starters, possess a positive attitude, and work well within a diverse business environment providing technical solutions and services to meet challenging requirements. The right candidate will have a desire to provide support on various projects in developing, testing, and deploying embedded hardware systems. This internship will give you hands-on experience and gain practical knowledge working with and building embedded systems. **_This position is onsite._** **Key Responsibilities** + Work closely with our engineering teams to understand and test embedded applications using industry-leading tools and platforms + Support multidisciplinary engineering on various projects in developing, testing, and deploying embedded hardware systems + Collaborate with team members to understand and implement project requirements + Perform research on embedded software, hardware, write, and compile to applications in embedded systems based on project requirements + Support business solutions activities within HCM **Requirements** + Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently and on a team + Excellent analytical, problem-solving and collaboration skills with a strong attention to detail + Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and their applications + Working knowledge using C/C++, Visual Studio Code, PlatformIO, Arduino, ESP-IDF, and Embedded Boards. + Understanding of serial monitoring, compiling embedded software, flashing firmware, and IoT integration. + Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related field + GPA of 3.0+ on a 4.0 grade scale + Working knowledge of MS Office Suite + Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing/able to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance **Benefits** + Gain practical, hands-on experience working with and building embedded systems + Learn from experienced engineers and gain real world knowledge and application of embedded systems + Exposure to IoT orchestration and embedded systems integration applied to real-world applications + Exposure to edge computing and AI processing at the microcontroller level + Exposure to cloud automation techniques and orchestration applied to IoT systems \#NWIntern2025 _At Nightwing, we value collaboration and teamwork.
