Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division - Large (IPSD-L) currently has an opening for **Embedded Product Analytics Engineer** within the Digital & Analytics team. This position is located at our **Mossville, IL** Tech Center - L facility. This position represents the journey level position within engineering. The key role of an Engineer – Embedded Product Analytics is that of contributor to the planning, executing and delivery of a project.
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division - Large (IPSD-L) designs and manufactures diesel and gas engines, ranging from 7.2L to 18L bore sizes, and the key engine systems such as fuel, air, after treatment and cooling which are used to power oil & gas, electric power, marine, industrial and Cat machine applications around the world.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Accountable for contributing to the concept, development, and design of complex algorithms, analytical models, or applications that use product data.
+ Performs complex analysis work, identifies design problems, and resolves problems. Focusing on technical delivery.
+ Development of data mining processes and tools for engine data collection, aggregation, feature extraction, analytics modeling, and reliability/durability forecasting to support engineering design, simulation, CPI, and NPI.
+ Identify opportunities to solve problems in his or her functional area through the use of analytical models; helping analysts on a team to design, development, and testing of predictive and prescriptive analytic algorithms/tools using telematics data to enhance product performance and efficiency within engine development, and to provide customers’ value-added services, recommendations, and optimized solutions for their engines, equipment, and/or job sites. development of data mining processes and tools for engine
+ Incumbents may work more directly with different units, suppliers, customers, and/or other teams. communicating technical information in a concise and accurate manner.
+ Research new areas of analytics techniques and algorithmic approaches needed for meeting customer requirements, with the ability to work in agile or digital NPI processes.
+ Keep up-to-date on changing customer needs as the project progresses, stay current with new technology, and provide guidance and direction on the project to less experienced engineers, technologists, and technicians.

Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical or Computer/Analytics curriculum
+ Experience with data driven engine health and condition monitoring development, which includes strong experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, data visualization tools such as Tableau, or Power BI, and working with various Snowflakes / Oracle databases.
+ Strong proficiency in statistical and analytical methods, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, AWS Cloud Computing

+ Experience with analysis of both time series (continuous) and transactional data

**Summary Pay Range:**
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
