About usWe are a team that works on the development of bus chassis parts and products, consisting of three distinct areas: an electrical engineering area, a mechanical engineering area, an electromobility area and a project management area. This position is focused on electrical engineering area mainly on Electronic Control Units management and its software verification using testbenches. We are looking for someone to embark on a journey of change with us! This opportunity is in the Engineering department of Volvo Buses. In this position, you will be involved in discussions about new technologies, market analysis, and trends, enhancing your technical knowledge and personal skills. Additionally, you will interact with different people and functions within the Volvo Group, promoting improvements and contributing to the creation of our future buses, with project development at a global level.
We develop, maintain and test embedded application software for bus chassis.
Your main activities will include:
Develop software strategies and functions specification for embedded software for buses, aiming to enhance the final product in features.understanding the customer needs, delivering a fast and efficient solution for the issues found.
Provide postproduction support when requested.
Plan and prioritize the activities using an Agile method. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, system engineers, and calibration engineers to ensure seamless integration of software components into the overall system. Conduct thorough testing, verification, and software validation to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Participate in test cases reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes. Participating in several phases of the product life cycle, from Advanced Engineering to Product Development, from Product Maintenance to Product End of life. Strong interface with quality´s team A candidate for this position must: Be an Engineer with a BSc/MSc (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent). Be eager to bring solutions from system design to verification. Has previous embedded software development knowledge (2+ years). Knows measurement/verification tools – CANalyzer, CANoe.
Have experience with
Automotive communication protocols and standards (CAN, J1587, LIN, ISO26262) Have good knowledge in programming languages such as C, C++, as these are commonly used in embedded systems development.
