Job Title: Embedded Software Developer

Job Description

Join our VMCU team, working on real-time ECUs in the automobile industry using Autosar. This role involves ongoing support for features and defects, with a focus on debugging and problem-solving. You will support the development of next generation vehicles, engaging in 40% new development and 60% debugging/defects resolution. Work on various projects including infotainment, connectivity, and hardware modules for the next generation of vehicles.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement BSP/bootloader features as part of a larger team-based software project.Design and implement secure boot features.Complete product verification and validation, troubleshooting, and testing.Essential SkillsStrong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.Solid verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work in a multi-site team environment with self-driven and self-motivated capabilities.Minimum of 3+ years experience (ideally 5+) in Embedded Systems development using Embedded C.Experience with low-level device driver development (must have delivered on a device driver before).Experience working with hardware bring-up.Capable of cross-team communication.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsAutosarPerformance OptimizationMemory OptimizationPrevious automotive experienceExperience with Linux/QNX/UNIX/VxWorks RTOSEmbedded securityKnowledge of safety standards like ISO26262Memory managementProven C and assembly language experienceCapable of reading electronic schematicsSkilled in using debugging tools like JTAG and oscilloscope/logic analyzerDriver development experience (e.g., UART, I2C, SPI, CAN/CAN FD)Experience with version control tools (e.g., SVN, Git)Work Environment

You will work on-site 5 days a week at the Ottawa location. The role is 60% debugging and 40% development, focusing on next-generation features and hardware bring-up. Pay and Benefits
