Embedded Software Engineer
Embedded Software Engineer - Lakewood, CO - Onsite We are hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of several different medical device products, some of which include blood cell processing systems! The selected candidate will spend 50% of their time resolving issues or developing solutions to prevent issues in products, 25% developing new features utilizing languages such as C++, and 25% coordinating with hardware and software groups or customers. You will be wo rking on a team of 4, including one other developer, one data engineer, and one release engineer. This team covers 43 different products that are or contain software and over 115 fielded versions. This position is fully onsite in Lakewood, Colorado. Job Responsibilities: + Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for products and commercial software. + Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls. + Develops and/or provides technical leadership in the development of new software products or major enhancements to existing software involving application of new technologies with significant technical risk for both internal and external customers. + Performs functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software including customer software, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software. + Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements from third party customers. + Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with projects which may include external personnel. + Participate in the formation of project goals, scope, and schedule. Skills & Qualifications + BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field. + 3+ years of professional experience working in embedded C/C++ in Embedded Linux and real-time OS. + Knowledge of embedded operating systems required - experience with development in VxWorks is a plus. + Demonstrated proficiency in object-oriented engineering and applications development using C++ - modern C++ highly preferred (11/14/17/20). + Experience in networking preferred.
