Embedded Software Engineer

Description:

We are looking to add a long-term consulting resources to an onsite team at a well-known industry in the fire alarm and smart building systems industry to produce high-quality software solutions. Our team is composed of seasoned and passionate professionals who are committed to innovation and excellence. This role will play a key role in modernizing and migrating our customer’s existing code/tech stack.

This will be a hybrid position with 3 days per week onsite and will come with comprehensive benefits, paid time off and holidays.

Required Skills:

•\tBachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Software Engineering and/or Computer Science.

•\t5+ years of embedded software development experience.

•\tRecent experience as an individual contributor embedded software engineer.

•\tExperience in build and migration engineering.

•\tExcellent knowledge in multithread and multi-process development.

•\tExperience with Yocto Framework.

•\tExperience migrating code from GitHub to GitLab and updating scripts as needed.

•\tStrong experience in C/C++ development and Python scripting for automation.

•\tMastery of Linux IP networking stacks.

•\tExcellent knowledge of Linux device drivers.

•\tExcellent knowledge of Ethernet protocol stacks, VLANs, PTP, etc.

•\tWorking experience with secure communication over Ethernet.

•\tKnowledge of formal development methodologies.

•\tExperience with versioning tools such as Git.

Preferred Qualifications:

•\tWorking experience with commercial Ethernet switches (Marvell, Micrel, Broadcom).

•\tExperience with Linux client/server development.

•\tKnowledge of socket programming and encryption.

•\tFamiliarity with packet generator and packet inspection tools (XENA, Wireshark).

•\tExperience with issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Integrity).

•\tExperience with Atlassian tools.
