Job Description
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be an integral part of our Electro Optical Infrared System (EOIS) Software Development Team. You will be responsible for developing embedded software and PC tools, determining hardware compatibility, and completing documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. You will also interact with users to define system requirements and necessary modifications.
ResponsibilitiesSupport and participate in technical activities.Design, develop, analyze, document, and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.Use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments.Work independently and under supervision of others.Provide regular reporting of progress and status.Complete assigned tasks on time and meeting technical requirements.Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable.Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements.Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed.Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.Other duties as assigned.Essential Skills10 years of real-time embedded software experience.Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).Experience with Linux and bare-metal implementation for embedded systems.Experience with embedded device drivers (TCP/IP, UART, I2C, PCIe, etc.).Solid understanding of multi-threading/multi-processing concepts and implementations.Strong development experience in C or C++ (3 years).Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering technical field.Active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with modern software development processes, including software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, peer review, and agile development life cycles.Experience in initial hardware start-up and troubleshooting techniques.Familiarity with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.Strong analytical and communication skills.Capable of integrating hardware and software and developing test plans and procedures.Lead and direct the work of others as assigned.VXWorks experience is a plus.Experience in industries such as avionics, automobile, or small space-related projects.C# and ADA knowledge is beneficial.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00
