Job Title: Software Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer with full-lifecycle software development experience in C/C++. The ideal candidate will independently solve straightforward technical problems and handle complex issues with guidance from Principal Engineers. This role involves managing small to medium-sized projects and moving freely between first principles analysis and complex software solutions. A strong understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each approach is essential. The candidate will also develop design data ranging from system descriptions and technical reports to customer presentations.

ResponsibilitiesIndependently solve straightforward technical problems.Solve complex technical problems with guidance from Principal Engineers.Manage small to medium-sized projects.Perform first principles analysis and complex software solution analysis.Maintain intuition to recognize when to change technical approaches for better results.Develop design data, including system descriptions, technical reports, and customer presentations.Essential SkillsExperience in C/C++Experience in embedded software developmentFamiliarity with embedded LinuxSoftware development skillsKnowledge of PythonMachine learning experienceAdditional Skills & Qualifications0-2+ years of embedded software developmentBachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or related technical fields such as robotics, physics, or similar disciplinesExperience in the development and implementation of closed-loop control systemsExperience with simulation-based test and evaluation softwareWillingness to work in a rapid prototyping and testing environmentTechnical curiosity and desire to conceptualize, design, build, and test a wide range of projects from seafloor to aerospace systemsWork Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and involves exciting projects, including unmanned water vehicles. The engineer will have the opportunity to test watercraft on the harbor in Baltimore and see their software implemented into hardware on the production floor. This role is very hands-on and not limited to desk work or coding.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.46
