This position is for the Embedded Software Engineer II in the Commercial Navigation Software team reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager, Commercial Navigation Software.

\n

The annual base salary range for this position is $94,400 - $118,200.  Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.  Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

 Key Responsibilities

\n\nUnder direct supervision, this position is responsible for mid level engineering responsibilities. Uses basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals to complete defined project subtasks.\nMay interact with internal customers and team members in order to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.\nResponsible for executing well defined project SW subtasks in order to meet customer specifications (designing, testing, etc).\nEnsures own work is completed on time and to specifications.\nMay present findings to team members. Exchanges task level information (system requirements, technical drawings, specifications, etc.) with team members.\nMay participate in project meetings and presentations.\nCommunicates any non-compliance to pertinent parties.\nApplies prescriptive methodology to project tasks. May solve low complexity task issues using engineering knowledge, tools and software principles.\n\n

Job Description

\n\nCompletes software work products to achieve certification and customer acceptance.\nParticipates in project status meetings and provides status updates to the SW Lead Engineer/Manager.\nEstablishes and applies methodology to new concepts and recommends enhancements to advance projects and processes.\nIdentifies and proposes technical improvements using engineering knowledge and principles.\nMay assist in developing Aerospace Engineering processes and guidelines.\n\n

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

You Must Have

\n\n2+ years of related experience in Embedded Software Engineering.\nSolid programming experience in C or C++\nMust be a US Citizen or US Person (Permanent Resident) due to export control requirements.\n\n

We Value

\n\nBachelor’s Degree in computer science or Electrical engineering, or a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, mathematics.\nExperience with DO- 178 development standards.\nKnowledge of Agile methodology.\nExperience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.\nStrong documentation and writing skills.\nAbility to positively influence others and create a passion for excellence.\nAbility to support multiple projects while meeting customer expectations.\nInertial sensing and navigation domain knowledge.\nExperience with software architectures, design methods & development process, including thorough working knowledge of real-time, embedded software design & development in a regulated industry.\nUnderstanding of aerospace industry software development standards and requirements (or other safety critical/high regulatory industries). \nSelf-motivated and consistently takes the initiative to get things done.\n\n
