Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer III

Job Description

The Embedded Software Engineer III will develop, modify, and maintain customized embedded applications using software engineering best practices and standards. As an Embedded Software Engineer III, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality software solutions for our Salient Systems’ products. 

ResponsibilitiesDevelop software for new and existing productsDevelop product specifications and synthesize solutions with marketing, sales, and other team membersAssume lead development role when neededWork independently with minimal supervisionSupport existing products involving feature enhancement and problem solvingDocument developed software and participate in generation of user level documentationSupport customers and internal production and field service team membersLoad software and test on products prior to shipmentParticipate in field testing and debuggingAll other duties as assignedEssential SkillsProficiency with ‘C’ language programmingProficiency with embedded RTOSProficiency writing ISRs and programs that interact with devices at the register levelProficiency interpreting electronic schematics, device data sheets, and other technical documentationProficiency with oscilloscopes, meters, logic analyzers, and other test equipment to analyze and debug embedded systemsProficiency operating in a Linux workstation environment, both developing software for embedded microcontrollers and software that will run in a Linux environmentProficiency with TCP/IP network programming, routing, DNS, and DHCPProficiency developing revision controlled software consistently following an established processElectronic circuit debugging, testing, designProgramming with ASYNC, I2C, and SPI interfacesEmbedded data acquisition applications involving A/D conversionDistributed source code management systems (e.g. Mercurial, GIT)Digital signal processingBASHPythonLinux device driver experienceData analysis and statistical methodsLinux system administrationFamiliarity with industry-standard procedures and processes (ie: ISO9001, UL/CE certification, etc.)Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science or other engineering discipline required.5-7 years experience developing software for embedded systems requiredExperience working with binary serial protocols requiredExperience with real-time applications programming requiredGraphing library experience preferredAdditional Info

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80500.00 - $80500.00/yr.
