Job Title: Embedded System Firmware Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, creative Embedded System Firmware Engineer with strong leadership and communication skills to join our team of dedicated and talented engineers at the Cary, NC, Innovation Center. In this role, you will develop and continuously improve intelligent sensors for commercial water control products. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing firmware for mechatronic designs with embedded microcontrollers, physical sensors, motors, solenoids, and data communication for smart, robust, and reliable commercial sensor flush valves and faucets.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and improve firmware for mechatronic designs with embedded microcontrollers.Work with physical sensors, motors, solenoids, and data communication systems.Ensure the reliability and robustness of commercial sensor flush valves and faucets.Collaborate with firmware engineers to fully integrate circuitry and motor drives.Participate in new product development projects combining different platforms over the next five years.Integrate products with IoT platforms, tweak code, and ensure products do not malfunction.Evaluate additional microcontroller platforms such as Microbit MSP430 STM.Understand and discuss DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) considerations.Essential SkillsProficiency in firmware development and embedded C programming.Experience with embedded software and microcontrollers.Knowledge of power management and optimizing power consumption in battery-operated devices.Familiarity with low power design, including the use of capacitors and resistors.Experience with at least two of the three common communication protocols.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the battery space and power management.Understanding of how to integrate and optimize existing platforms.Confidence in leading and interacting with team members and management.Ability to work with high-quality, sustainable products.Work Environment

This role is onsite at our Cary, NC, Innovation Center with occasional travel to our Sanford facility. The work environment is collaborative and focused on developing high-quality, sustainable water control products. We offer 9 holidays, 3 floaters, and opportunities for volunteering service. The company has a strong history of paying out bonuses and offers an additional incentive bonus program.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $140000.00

o\tBonuses: 5% base, with potential for 10-15% if management incentives are met.
o\tVacation: 3 weeks, 9 holidays, 3 floating holidays, and 20 hours of volunteering time.
