EMC Compliance Test Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Test Engineer II - EMC Compliance to join our team.

This role focuses on supporting the development and testing of larger devices, including cable lines, to ensure compliance with relevant Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility (EMI/EMC) standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in EMI/EMC testing.

This position is 100% onsite, five days a week!

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Test Engineer focused on EMI/EMC testing of products using spectrum analyzers and signal generators. This role involves hands-on testing, working closely with Systems Engineers, and providing guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Top 3 Must-Haves:

EMI/EMC Testing Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in EMI/EMC testing and compliance, with proficiency in using spectrum analyzers and signal generators.Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC testing procedures and familiarity with international EMC standards (CISPR, IEC, EN61000-4-2:11, FCC Part 15, EN 55032).Guidance and Support: Ability to provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, leveraging your experience to help develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Support: Assist engineering teams by providing technical guidance and support, helping to alleviate their workload.EMI/EMC Testing: Conduct EMI/EMC testing of products using spectrum analyzers and signal generators, including radiated and conducted emissions, immunity tests, and other relevant assessments.Documentation: Prepare and review documentation for EMC compliance, including test plans, test reports, and technical files. Document and analyze test results using Excel and other spreadsheet tools.Problem Solving: Identify and resolve EMC issues through analysis and testing, recommending and implementing improvements to EMC processes and procedures.Collaboration: Work closely with Systems Engineers to develop and implement testing solutions, integrating EMC considerations into product designs, including grounding, shielding, filtering, and layout techniques.Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, leveraging your experience to help develop their skills.Equipment Utilization: Utilize various test equipment including voltmeters, oscilloscopes, micrometers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, amplifiers, and network analyzers. Perform full system testing and calibration of equipment.

Essential Skills:

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with spectrum analyzers, signal generators, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.EMI/EMC Knowledge: Understanding of EMI/EMC testing procedures and familiarity with international EMC standards (CISPR, IEC, EN61000-4-2:11, FCC Part 15, EN 55032).Guidance and Support: Ability to provide technical guidance and support to junior staff.Analytical Skills: Strong knowledge of Excel and spreadsheet tools for documenting and analyzing test results.Education: Degree in Electronics or a related technical field (Associates degree minimum).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in EMI/EMC testing and compliance. Recent and relevant experience from academic or technical training is also valuable.Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of electrical engineering practices and procedures.

Location: Based in our newly updated labs in Holtsville, New York.Culture: Enjoy a great culture with brand new labs and a supportive work environment. The role is part of the engineering services group, providing exposure to various products within the company. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00
