EMERGE – Kennametal’s Emerging Leadership Program
EMERGE, Kennametal’s early-career leadership development program, is focused on building emerging leaders within Kennametal through diverse experiences to expand their perspectives, develop functional expertise, and accelerate career development.
EMERGE will equip participants with leadership, professional, and technical skills necessary to drive performance and integration among business functions. This immersive program is 2 years in duration with diverse functional rotations within Kennametal’s Operations, Technology or Commercial business tracks. Participants must be willing to relocate or travel during the program. Post completion of the program, position placement will be into a role based on your strengths and interests, as well as business need at that time.

Commercial Track
Functional opportunities included within Kennametal’s Commercial Track include but are not limited to:
Participants within the Commercial Track have opportunities to rotate through Sales, Portfolio Management, Project Management, Marketing, Technology and Manufacturing. Actively learn metal cutting and how our products deliver technical solutions to customers. Understand how Kennametal generates revenue and helps us to uncover new channels for business growth.
Program Highlights
1-week corporate onboarding and assimilation including leadership series, philanthropic activities, introduction to professional development trainings and plant site visits as 1 EMERGE Cohort. Formalized mentorship program Robust and rewarding rotations within functional tracks (most rotations will require both corporate and plant assignments). Ongoing learning journey to enhance technical, professional and leadership acumen.
Program Eligibility
Completing final academic year in: Business, Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain. Strong organization, facilitation, leadership, project management and communication skills. Strong analytical approach to problem solving. Candidates with a minimum overall GPA of a 3.2 preferred.
