Are you looking to work with an engaged team and motivated faculty? Are you looking to collaborate and learn from other PMHNPs, Psychiatrists and General Medicine providers to provide state-of-the-art psychiatric care to those in need? We have an exciting role for you!
The Department of Psychiatry is seeking to add a crisis Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to our team. In this role, your service will be a combination of coverage in the DHMC emergency department as well as outpatient psychiatry clinics. A portion of the outpatient work will involve telehealth and can be done remotely. In this role, you will not have overnight or weekend responsibilities, and there is opportunity for schedule flexibility.
The emergency psychiatric service at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is an interdisciplinary team of mental health clinicians who provide consultation to the emergency department regarding psychiatric and behavioral emergencies. Team members include APRN, social work, psychology and psychiatry clinicians. Team members independently assess and manage children and adults presenting to the DHMC emergency department as well as in the urgent outpatient setting and on the crises phone line. Additionally, this team reviews and accepts referrals for the inpatient psychiatric adult psychiatric units.
The Department of Psychiatry is involved in training mental health clinicians in multiple disciplines and opportunities exist for teaching and supervision of trainees. The ideal candidate, in addition to having relevant clinical experience, being an enthusiastic teacher and having strong organizational and multitasking skills are important in this role.
