Emergency Communications Design Engineer

Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking a highly skilled professional to support the development and implementation of Emergency Communications Systems. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, system design, and the execution of critical acoustic simulations to ensure compliance with standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in audio engineering, electronics, or electrical engineering, and the ability to work with cutting-edge design software in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop 2D Riser Diagrams for Emergency Communications System equipment and field speaker designs. Design field speaker circuiting, sequencing, and numbering, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Provide database support for cabinets, panels, and field devices in a proprietary relational database. Create and manage Cable Schedules and Equipment Lists to ensure all components are tracked. Perform Clash Detection for Emergency Communications System components using 3D models and Navisworks. Review and resolve comments on design documents from team members, ensuring quality and accuracy. Execute Model Development and/or Import using Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers (EASE) software version 4.4. Execute speech transmission index (STI) calculations with EASE and export various reports, including STI distribution and heat maps. Produce standard calculation documents and check the reports and calculations of others performing similar tasks. Provide technical direction and guidance throughout the design, development, and implementation phases.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Audio Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. An Associate Degree in CAD or Engineering Technology.

Minimum Qualifications:

U.S. Citizen required for clearance. Minimum of 10 years of cumulative relevant experience. Experience with CAD software in 2D/3D MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit. Significant experience with audio STI analysis using the EASE software application. Working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design. Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment. Satisfactory results from pre-employment screening, including background check and drug screening.

Desired Qualifications:

Previous experience in nuclear environments. Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), IBC, ISA, and IEEE codes and standards.
