The Emergency Communications Center (ECC) Dispatcher position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure workplace environment through the operation of the ECC. The ECC Dispatcher will monitor alarms, CCTV and control systems, while answering emergent and non-emergent calls for service with the expectation to provide the best most efficient customer support possible, keeping in mind critical thinking and emergency prioritization of needs in a dynamic environment. The ECC Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating security and emergency responses and maintaining logs of calls for service. The Dispatcher's core role is to promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and hospital employees.
Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.

High school diploma or GED required Associate's or bachelor's degree in law enforcement, Criminal Justice, Business, Psychology or Sociology preferred 1 year of emergency or high stress dispatching experience required 2 years of demonstrated ability to operate radio, telephone equipment and/or console monitors required Prior Health Care Security/EMS Dispatch Experience preferred Accredited Verbal De-escalation Certification, EMR or EMT or Paramedic Medical Certification, ARMER Dispatcher Certification, APCO or Other Accredited Professional Dispatch Certification preferred.CentraCare has made a commitment to diversity in its workforce.
