Position Summary:
The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University is seeking Emergency/Critical Care faculty to join our program as part of our new veterinary program and teaching hospital. Selected candidates will be integral in developing the companion animal emergency/critical care (ECC) service housed within our new Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, currently under construction in Mullica Hill, NJ.
The ECC section will operate 24/7 and is responsible for small and companion animal emergency case intakes, hospitalization of patients across services in need of intensive monitoring, and oversight of the co-located isolation facilities. The new teaching hospital is designed to accommodate multiple specialty departments including anesthesia, diagnostic imaging (with new GE CT and 3T MRI), dentistry and oral surgery, primary care, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, exotics, dermatology, and surgery, and a full pharmacy with sterile compounding capabilities.
The selected candidates will have direct responsibility for teaching and evaluation of both DVM and veterinary technology students, interns, and residents in the clinical setting. Didactic teaching of ECC principles within the pre-clinical years and coordination of including hands-on ECC training experiences during the 3rd year are essential components of the role.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in small animal emergency/critical care including completion of an ECC residency program and be board-eligible or ACVECC board-certified.
These positions are open-rank and candidates are eligible for appointment at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor roles, either in a clinical or tenure track, based upon qualifications and professional goals. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
DVM or equivalent degree. Completion of an ECC residency training program with board-certification (or board-eligibility), ACVECC. Demonstrated experience teaching veterinary students in a clinical setting, strongly preferred. Currently licensed in or eligible for licensure in NJ. NJ CDS permit or obtained upon hire. DEA registration or obtained upon hire.

The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine is located on the Glassboro, New Jersey west campus, 22 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine plans to admit its first class of DVM students in 2025, pending accreditation approval. Facilities will include an academic teaching facility aimed at the delivery of pre-clinical training, a small animal teaching hospital, and a research facility.
