Shift: Mid-Shift (12-hours) Status: 0.6 FTE The Emergency Department Tech is responsible for the basic management of patients in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists with patient care, based on individual patient needs, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Other duties include, but are not limited to, vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, appropriate documentation in the EMR, set up for and assist in select procedures (pelvic exams, laceration repairs, I&D of abscess, etc), stock rooms and areas with supplies as needed, and perform some procedures (stitch/staple removal, ear wax removal, phlebotomy, splinting, etc) as trained. The Emergency Department Tech is responsible for sustaining a fluid consistent flow by rooming and discharging patients as needed. The Emergency Department Tech should have good communication skills.
