Emergency Department Technician Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie, WI (Onsite) Full-Time Apply Now Job Details + POSITION PURPOSE + Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Emergency Department Technician provides patient care for all patients throughout the lifespan. + MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED + High School plus specialized training (6 mons-2 yrs) + MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED + 1 to 3 years + LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED + Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire. + Must be competent to obtain and process EKG’s per Cardiology protocols within 6 months of hire. + Current State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) basic licensure, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Medical Assistant (MA). + KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED + Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. + PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES + Performs technical skills under the supervision of the Emergency Department physicians and RNs for all patients throughout the lifespan. + Assists medical and nursing staff with patient data collections, patient care, clerical duties and documents/communicates appropriately. + Assists with facilitating interdepartmental and inter-hospital patient transfers as well as patient transfers between the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers and the Emergency Department.
