**Overview** **Emergency Department Technician at Fairview Lakes Medical Center, Wyoming, MN** **Position Details:** + **FTE** : 0.6 (48 hours per pay period) + **Shift** : day shift + **Weekend Requirement** : Every other weekend **Benefits:** + **Medical Insurance** : As low as $0 + **Dental Insurance** : As low as $0 + **Paid Time Off (PTO)** : 24 days per year + **403B Plan** : Up to a 6% employer match + **Wages** : $23/hr (increases with relevant experience) + **Shift Differentials** : + $0.60/hr for evenings + $0.70/hr for nights + $0.58/hr for weekends **Hiring Process** + You may receive a link to complete a video interview, which allows you to showcase your qualifications and interest in the position directly to hiring leaders. **Additional Information:** + Learn more about benefits at M Health Fairview: www.fairview.org/benefits (https://fairview.icims.com/proxy/classic-data/classic-data-spa/export/profile/JOB/www.fairview.org/benefits) **Responsibilities Job Description** **Job Summary for Emergency Department Technician (ERT)** As an ERT at Fairview Lakes Medical Center, you will assist the Emergency Department staff with various procedures, contribute to patient flow, transport, and comfort, and help maintain a neat and orderly unit. **Job Expectations** **Provides Patient Care:** + **Patient Transport** : Move patients using wheelchairs and carts. + **Assistance** : Aid patients with ambulation and positioning. + **Communication** : Inform RNs of any patient/family observations and concerns. + **Responsiveness** : Promptly respond to patient call lights and requests. + **Patient Dignity** : Show concern for patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality. + **Procedure Adaptations** : Perform tasks with adaptations or modifications consistent with patients' ages and developmental abilities. + **Specimen Handling** : Acquire ordered specimens from patients and transport specimens and blood products. + **Procedure Accuracy** : Demonstrate adherence to accurate procedures. + **Resuscitation Assistance** : Assist in resuscitation efforts. + **Nurse Extender Role** : Support nurses with patient care activities. **Documentation:** + **Patient Care Activities** : Document patient care activities and procedures clearly, concisely, accurately, and timely on nursing records. **Maintains Room/Unit and Supplies:** + **Restocking** : Restock room, supplies, and carts. + **Clean-Up** : Assist with patient room clean-up between patients. + **Checklist Completion** : Complete room and cart checklists. + **Quality Control** : Perform quality control checks on designated pieces of equipment and complete quality control checklists. **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** **License/Certification/Registration:** + **Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers)** : Certification required upon hire and must be maintained throughout employment. OnTrack participants must obtain BLS certification upon completion of the OnTrack program. **AND ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:** 1. **Current EMT or ERT certification** : Required upon hire (does not need to be maintained throughout employment). 2. **Current Paramedic Certification** : Required upon hire (does not need to be maintained throughout employment). 3. **Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry** : Required upon hire (does not need to be maintained throughout employment). Note: Individuals who have completed a Nursing Assistant program and are scheduled to take the NA Registry exam will have 90 days post-hire to become active on the registry. 4. **Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program** : Completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program. 5. **Six months of recent direct patient care experience** : In an acute care, long-term care, or home care setting (roles may include Nursing Assistant, PCA, or Resident Assistant). 6. **Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program** . 7. **LPN licensure upon hire** : This licensure does not need to be maintained throughout employment. **Preferred Qualifications:** **Experience:** + **Previous Emergency Room experience** : 1 or more years as an Emergency Room Scribe, paramedic, ERT, EMT, EDT, or ED EMS. + **Current CNA or NST experience** : 1 or more years. **License/Certification/Registration:** + Paramedic, EMT, ERT, LPN, CNA, PCA. **Ideal Characteristics:** + High standard of creative prioritization skills and priority setting. + Strong focus on customer service/patient service with every interaction. + Excellent public relations and interpersonal/communication skills. + Ability to work as an effective team member to deliver outstanding care. + Competence in using appropriate computer applications. + Ability to work independently and demonstrate critical thinking skills. + Adaptability to change and ability to empower others in ongoing processes. **EEO Statement** EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any lawfully protected status
