Emergency Management Coordinator
Position Summary:
Serves as a Regional Readiness and Response Coordinator for the North Idaho Healthcare Coalition (NIHCC). Develops, implements, and maintains the program for NIHCC in order to promote regional healthcare and medical readiness
Responsibilities:
Responsible to facilitate the planning, training, exercising, operational readiness, financial sustainability, evaluation and ongoing development of the NIHCC Leads, participates, or supports the preparedness, response, and recovery activities of the NIHCC Responsible for administration of Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) grant deliverables Responsible for conducting a Regional Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (HVA) with NIHCC leadership Coordinates drills, exercises and trainings which align with the HPP grant deliverables and the Regional HVA Responsible for maintaining communications with Department of Health and Welfare (DHW) and other healthcare stakeholders (e.g., Public Health, EMS, Hospitals, County Emergency Management) Performs a variety of tasks May lead and direct the work of others Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Associate degree and minimum 2 years related experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Emergency Management Coordinator, Hospital Safety Officer or related experience required in addition to the education requirement Demonstrated stability by functioning appropriately and effectively when dealing with critical, stressful or unexpected situations/incidentsWorking Conditions:
Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position Typical equipment used in an office job Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
