Responsible for emergency management systems supporting the Operations Center and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in Building 9704-04 and the Alternate EOC located at Building K-1650. Ensures that the facilities are maintained in a constant state of readiness, to include: computers, servers, communications, and video equipment maintained, updated as required, and ready to operate at all times. Maintains contracts with vendors and ensures configuration control of the EOC and associated systems.
Responsibilities to include:
Maintains EOC systems and equipment which includes all environmental systems, emergency power system (uninterruptible power supply [UPS] and generator), servers and workstation computers, communications equipment, and video display equipment Serve as Communications Security (COMSEC) Control Officer for the Y-12 node of the DOE Emergency Communications Network (ECN) with responsibility for maintaining COMSEC facility, equipment, documents, and materials. Assist the COMSEC custodian in maintaining inventory and documentation relative to COMSEC keying material Maintains training and qualification for the Y-12 Emergency Response Organization position and serves as EOC Facility Manager during the activation of the EOC for a Y-12 event. As EOC Facility Manager, performs EOC start-up activities and ensures continued operation of EOC systems and equipment for the duration of the activation Serve as primary or backup Building Manager for the Building K-1650 and Joint Information Center buildings which may include submission of maintenance requests and serving as a point of contact for maintenance activities Assists in the development, revision, and evaluation of the Emergency Management Information System (EMInS) Supports emergency management training activities and serves as subject matter expert in assigned areas of responsibility What You Can Expect Meaningful work and unique opportunities to support missions vital to national and global security Top-notch, dedicated colleagues Generous pay and benefits with a stable organization Career advancement and professional development programs Work-life balance fostered through flexible work options and wellness initiatives Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience Preferred Job Requirements Competence of: Emergency Management and DOE O 151.1D Experience or training in data communications in both digital and analog Familiarity and/or experience with a wide range of communications, computer, computer security, network, and audio/visual instrumentation as well as the following: Windows Server OS, ORACLE DB Software, Windows 10 Pro Desktop OS, MS Office Software, Windows Scripting Code, programming language, ESRI mapping software, Milestone security software, Vesta/NXT, Crestor Video Wall or similar video wall systems, UPS systems, and general network hardware and configurations General knowledge of radio communications, analog/digital, and trunking systems Meteorology systems, data loggers, modems, and applicable software packages Why Y-12?
