Emergency Management Program Coordinator

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department located in the state-of-the-art hospital. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.

As Emergency Management Coordinator, you will coordinate all aspects of emergency management planning and implementation at assigned sites. Caregivers in this role must have strong communication and coordination skills and the ability to make strong decisions.

A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM - 5:00PM.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Under the guidance of the Emergency Management Department, develop and maintain the assigned facilities' Emergency Operations Plan, Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, ensuring regulatory and compliance.Chair the assigned facilities' Emergency Management/Preparedness Committees.Manage and maintain the Hospital Emergency Response Teams (HERT) through training, coordination, and planning/executing emergency preparedness/response exercises for the facilities.Conduct Emergency Management training and education to all staff and personnel as required/requested.Represent the organization on internal and external Emergency Management related committees and organizations.Act as a liaison to the Regional Emergency Management Program Manager to align FHC emergency plans with hospital plans.Maintain caches of emergency preparedness equipment and supplies.Research, analyze and organize information for presentations.Develop interdepartmental education programs, records management activities and ensures standards are maintained.Assist department leadership with large or complex projects and initiate or lead moderately complex projects.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field OR additional progressively responsible experienceIncident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, 300 and 400 completion within one year of hireCertification as a Certified Healthcare Emergency Professionals (CHEP) through the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (IBFCSM) and Incident Command System (ICS) Curricula, Train the Trainer through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) within two years of hire Minimum three years of experience in a hospital, industry, fire service, military or other related setting involving areas of emergency preparedness planning and managementKnowledge of HICS, NIMS, NDMS and county/regional/state Emergency Operations PlansProficiency with basic computer skills

Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT) instructor through FEMAMicrosoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and emergency notification systems experience
