Emergency Management Services - Safety Coordinator

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Intermediate or Paramedic license issued by the state of Wisconsin, preferredNational Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Intermediate (NREMT-Intermediate) certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), preferredEMS Instructor I certification issued by the State of Wisconsin needs to be obtained within 18 monthsBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA),A valid drivers license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.


Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field.


Experience Required:

Typically requires 3 years of experience in safety, environment of care, and emergency preparedness.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

EMS instructor coordinator certification required or able to obtain.Wisconsin Critical Care Paramedic endorsement required for Paramedics.Knowledge of Wisconsin EMS System components, statues, codes, guidelines, technical college system and EMS education.Experience demonstrating leadership skill, initiative and personal management.Strong Microsoft software skills including: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.Knowledge of modern telecommunications equipment including data and telemetry transmission.Demonstrated leadership skills including decision making, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.Planning, physician relationships, project management and strong interpersonal skills.Must have acceptable driving record according to Aurora policy and standards.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.Must have speaking and hearing abilities to communicate/instruct class.Position requires travel. May be exposed to weather and road hazards.Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
