Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Emergency Management Specialist (Patchogue).
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for coordination, planning, operations, development, and performing highly responsible administrative work in the field of Emergency Management. This position carries out the duties of the department including developing plans, facilitating trainings, conducting exercises, and responding to emergencies. This position will also manage projects and be accountable for other assigned duties as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead interdisciplinary teams to execute broad-based and integrated programs of emergency management planning, training and exercisesDevelop (author) and promulgate operations-level plans and detailed tactical procedures for emergency response and enterprise resilienceBuild and maintain sustaining professional relationships with staff, managers, departments and facilities across the NYULMC EnterpriseWork with staff, managers, departments and facilities to test, review and update emergency operations plans, business continuity plans and tactical procedures to ensure their successful implementationSupport strategic risk reviews with key stakeholders to maintain the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) and the comprehensive all-hazards Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)On a rotating schedule with other EM+ER staff, be available on an on-call basis to receive incident notifications and to activate and lead emergency management response activitiesBe available to work off-hours (nights and weekends) as needed during emergenciesServe in a key emergency management role during incidents, emergencies and disasters of all types and sizesLiaise with emergency management agencies, regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders on matters regarding emergency managementCollaborate with assigned team members to support these job responsibilitiesRecommend and coordinate procurement of equipment related to emergency management as well as auditing its maintenanceMinimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in health or in a related field a healthcare administration, emergency management, occupational health and safety, or another appropriate discipline or the equivalent combination of work experience. Minimum of 3 years of professional level emergency management or related experience in field such as emergency management, public health, hospital administration, emergency services, or teaching. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. Project management experience. Able to interact with personnel at various levels. Able to work under tight and changing deadlines. Training experience. Ability to understand and interpret data. Computer literacy (MS Office)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in healthcare administration, emergency management, occupational health and safety, or another appropriate discipline or equivalent experience. Experience in emergency plan, training, and exercise development. Experience in emergency response. Familiarity with Joint Commission, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and other regulatory agencies requirements

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $84,800.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
