Under limited supervision, plans and administers the City's Emergency Management Program for managing natural and man-made disasters, and coordinates on all issues of homeland security; and performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Emergency Management, Business, Public Administration, or a closely related field + Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in providing professional-level management support, two (2) years of which were in emergency management program planning + Possess and maintain certification as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) within three (3) years of hire + Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver's License as defined by NRS 483 + Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check + Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six (6) months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year.
