Emergency Medical Services Coordinator

Job Summary
Supports the local Emergency Medical Services system for the organization. Provides technical support to Emergency Medical Services Programs.
Job Duties
+ Facilitates communications between the organization and contracted local emergency medical service providers by coordinating medical direction, training and continuing education programs.
+ Assists Development office with related projects.
+ Coordinates related community service projects that assist with fulfilling organizational needs to document community service for credentialing.
+ Assists in disseminating essential trauma information to regional emergency medical service providers in conjunction with the trauma center.
+ Develops a presence at local and state level.
+ Develops and maintains the quality improvement program for medical command.
+ Actively participates in or leads Hospital Emergency Management for their respective campus.
+ Develops a strategic and coordinated outreach program for their respective region.
+ Coordinates and provides educational opportunities for regional emergency medical services.
+ Coordinates and provides educational opportunities to hospital staff and community.
+ Helps coordinate, as a liaison, regional paramedic training within the hospital.
+ Participates in patient safety improvement and management program.
+ Assumes responsibility for identifying processes or systems that could potentially lead to errors and adverse events.
