Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Overview **This position is contingent upon contract award** SOSi is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join a large medical support services program in the Greater El Paso Region supporting our U.S. Government Customer. Essential Job Duties Performs medical history and physical assessment. Performs vital signs electronically and manually, as indicated. Obtains medical histories and completes necessary paperwork on detainees entering the facilities including vital signs , performing manually and electronic as applicable. Any medical concerns, abnormal findings or complaints are referred to a Physician or an Advanced Practice Provider. Assists with medical appointments, medical/mental health emergencies, documenting all care provided, orders received, and/or any referral made. Coordinates health-care needs of the patient with other staff members or custody as needed, to include referrals to off-site care. Ensures any medical orders received or standing orders are implemented. Minimum Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have a minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care as a licensed/certified NR EMT in the United States. Candidates must be currently licensed to practice as Nationally Registered (NR) EMT on the United States or the District of Columbia. All EMT's must hold current BLS certification. Skill in collecting a variety of laboratory samples. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish encouraged, but not required. Experience in detention/correctional or pediatric setting encouraged, but not required. Work Environment Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and pressure. Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment May be required to travel on short notice. May be required to serve at various medical units within sector/region. Flexible scheduling and overtime are optional, as available. Duties will be performed on-site at medical units, which may rotate within a specific region or sector.
