Emergency Response Coordinator
Job Title: Emergency Response/Waste Disposal Coordinator
Job Description

We are currently seeking an Emergency Response and Waste Disposal Coordinator in Bartow. The primary responsibility is to handle emergency response calls from clients, gather necessary information, document and notify, coordinate with the operational lead, and manage administrative responsibilities for the emergency response project. The role also involves coordinating waste disposal and ensuring clients receive a quick and efficient response during environmental emergencies. This position is mainly office-based (80%) with occasional field visits.

ResponsibilitiesAssign, manage, and guide the Emergency Services Response Team to environmental emergencies.Provide guidance to team members and out-of-state contractors for proper spill clean-up, legal compliance, and protecting client liability.Maintain constant communication and documentation with team members, clients, and regulatory authorities.Prepare cost estimates to ensure all costs are recognized and quoted dollars meet required margins.Meet with customers for job walks to understand the scope of work and potential issues impacting costs and execution.Coordinate with Waste Management personnel for proper waste disposal.Work with management to schedule work and ensure availability of manpower and equipment resources.Follow up on jobs to ensure satisfactory completion, issue resolution, invoicing, and collection of payments.Prepare reports based on field notes, laboratory reports, and other data, including source removal and site assessment.Ensure health and safety are the top priorities by following policies and acting safely.Monitor responders to ensure task completion and provide corrective actions if needed.Be on-call one week every month after normal business hours to coordinate and perform emergency response projects.Participate in continual training and education programs.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in physical sciences, geology, engineering, environmental science, or emergency management preferred.Experience with environmental, industrial services, waste disposal, or emergency response projects is a plus.OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training preferred.Working knowledge of DOT and RCRA regulations and understanding of spill response terminology and principles.Knowledge of hazards associated with hazardous wastes.Effective communication with regulatory agencies, clients, and team members.Strong interpersonal skills for leadership, management, negotiation, and problem-solving.Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Friendly, courteous, professional, and customer service-oriented.Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve routine issues.Team player with a positive attitude capable of working in a fast-paced environment.Ability to establish and maintain a professional atmosphere for employees, clients, and customers.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with environmental, industrial services, waste disposal, or emergency response projects.OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training.Working knowledge of DOT and RCRA regulations.Knowledge of hazardous waste hazards.Work Environment

The position is primarily office-based with an 80% focus on office and phone work and occasional field visits. The role requires being on-call one week every four weeks, including after-hours emergency response coordination. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
