Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will receive emergency and non-emergency requests by telephone, mobile radio, mobile data computers or automatic alarms. You will screen incoming communications and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls and situations. You will maintain logs, forms and status of security and fire personnel on duty and available using CAD system. You will be responsible for obtaining the necessary information from various monitoring sources or individuals and dispatching police, fire and medical emergency services assets for Department of Defense installations. You will serve as the key point of contact between field personnel, station management and other representatives of other public safety agencies during emergency response operations or assignments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating electronic computer-based systems for emergency (Police, Fire, and/or EMS) dispatching management; 2) Operating multiple equipment/systems (i.e., Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, alarm systems, dispatch recording devices, multi-channel radios) during emergency situations; and 3) Disseminating information from incoming callers during emergency situations. Education Additional Information This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. The position often requires irregular hours. This position is subject to recall 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The potential to work up to 16 hours at a time does exist due to unscheduled absences and/or extreme circumstances such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and other all hazards emergency or disaster situations. Duty hours are not permanent and shift work is required in order to provide 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days per year coverage. Incumbent is required to successfully complete the RDC Training Program to include classroom and On-The-Job Training (OJT). If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management.
