**_About The Position_**
_The Emergency Response Specialist is responsible for the continuing and on-going growth and maturation of the Ameren emergency response initiative and the Emergency Response Plan in a manner that meets the directional and operational needs of Ameren, meets or exceeds the reasonable expectations of external stakeholders, and positions Ameren to be a performance leader in the area of emergency response._
**_Key responsibilities include:_**
+ Understand, support, and promote an effective business approach to emergency response.
+ Understand, support, and promote Ameren's emergency response initiative and Emergency Response Plan.
+ Contribute as part of a team or individually to develop and conduct emergency response training.
+ Participate as part of a team to develop, conduct, and evaluate emergency response exercises.
+ Serve as a member of the Ameren emergency response organization, serving in any of several specific roles within the response structure.
+ Evaluate Ameren response to operating emergencies and its level of compliance with the Emergency Response Plan.
+ On a continuing basis, evaluate the Emergency Response Plan and the degree to which it is consistent with and supports corporate and operational objectives.
+ On a continuing basis, evaluate the Emergency Response Plan and the degree to which it parallels the direction of the industry and meets/exceeds the expectations of various external stakeholders.
+ Represent Ameren and its emergency response initiative with local and state agencies and officials.
+ During periods of emergency response, the Emergency Response Specialist will be expected to travel to the Emergency Operations Center at any time of the day or night in any circumstances in order to take part in the activation of the EOC or to travel to any of the Ameren operating centers.
**_Qualifications_**
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; preferably in a discipline related to Disaster Preparedness or Business Administration. Seven or more years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
+ National Incident Management System certification / training preferred.
+ Experience in responding to emergency response events required.
+ Two or more years’ experience in a supervisor or project/team leadership role preferred.
**In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:**
Ability to successfully manage and direct teams / individuals in an organizational support role preferred; Understanding of / experience with utility operations preferred; Thorough understanding of the concept of the Incident Command Structure preferred; Thorough proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Visio); and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
*Hybrid role with 3 days in office, 2 remote*
*Senior Emergency Response Specialist level available*
*Role level is commensurate with level of experience of the successful candidate*
**Compensation Range:**
$69,300.00 - $133,900.00
* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant’s credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
