The Job You Will Perform:
Provide Incident Command and leadership to the mill Emergency Response Team
Respond to all mill site emergencies - fire, hazardous materials, medical and natural disasters
Provide first aid and emergency medical treatment; resolve injury management concerns; complete paperwork
Perform all Reliability/Basic Care (weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual) inspections/tests of the mill fire protection systems
Interface with Corporate Risk Management and FM Global, especially with fire system impairments
Perform drug screens (including Random screenings)
Issue high hazard hot work permits and all confined space permits
Develop and implement training plans for the mill Emergency Response Team
Classroom and field instruction for the mill Emergency Response Team
The Skills You Will Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Intermediate EMT with National Registry
Operations Level trained in hazardous material response
Trained to Firefighter Mod. 1
Must be able to work shift rotation including night and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
Fire Officer 1 certification
Certified Intermediate EMT with National Registry
Trained in all aspects of Incident Command
Trained in rescue operations
Trained in basic industrial fire fighting
Basic knowledge of fire protection systems
At least two years of Emergency Response experience
Knowledge of Savannah Mill operations and process
Special Conditions:
Applicant must possess excellent problem solving and leadership skills.
Applicant must be a self-starter, confident and knowledgeable enough to make decisions without supervisory input. Decisions made can affect the Savannah Mill operations.
Applicant must also be able to work with all levels of employees, especially mill management, to resolve issues with all aspects of emergency response, fire systems, confined space, hot work, and safety.
