Responsibilities

As an Emergency Room Technician, you will deliver patient care and perform clinical procedures within the scope of your licensure under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Provider.  

DUTIES INCLUDE:  

Assisting in implementing each patient's plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and other tasks within your scope of practiceAssisting with observation of patients, gathering data and identifying patient care needsResponding to emergency situationsAssisting with patient transport and transferAssisting with cleaning, stocking and maintenance of department equipment and suppliesAdhering to safety and risk management standardsAssisting with clerical and communication tasks to support patient care
Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

High school diploma (or GED equivalent) and completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities:

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program ORMedical Assistant program ORCertified Nursing Assistant program ORLicensed Practical Nurse program ORParamedic (EMG) program  ORMilitary Hospital Corpsman program (with validation)Completion of one year of nursing school. 

Licensure/Certification:

At hire, a candidate must have one of the following, current and recorded by the Washington State:Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) by the Washington State Nursing Commission, ORCurrent registration as a Registered Nursing Assistant (RNA) by the Washington State Nursing Commission, ORCurrent certification as a Medical Assistant-Cert (MAC) by Washington State; ORCurrent Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).An incumbent must maintain at least one clinical licensure (above) after hire.Employees that possess a CNA or RNA license at the time of hire must submit an application to the Washington State Department of Health for Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy (MA-P) certification within 90 days of hire as evidenced by a proof of payment receipt.  Certification must be received within 6 months of hire in the position and maintained as current thereafter in addition to their CNA or RNA license.At hire, current healthcare provider BLS certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
