What You Will Do:

The Emissions and Data Recording Operations groups within the Development Operations Instrumentation cell perform a wide variety of technical tasks in support of engine development and production testing.  The organization supports exhaust emissions and bleed air measurement processes, as well as structural and performance data recording, as well as Thermal Imaging, proximity measurements and optically based blade vibration measurements (NSMS), and sensor installations and calibration.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Tasks include consultation and coordination with engineering, design group, finance, test planning, and customer groups to establish requirements.Tasks also include, but are not limited to, mechanical and electrical installations, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and calibration of devices and systems in the engine test facilities, flight test, and laboratory environments., as well as the test Set-up and Operation of data acquisition systems during validation testing.  This position involves a high degree of interaction with both test engineering and operations groups, requiring effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills.  A strong emphasis is placed on dedication, innovation, resourcefulness and attention to detail.  This organization supports testing and field operations across multiple company and customer sites throughout the US and the world.  

Qualifications You Must Have: 

HS Diploma, AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6+ years’ experience with instrumentation systems and sensor applications in the testing of engine systems.Candidates with 4yr degree and 2+ yrs experience may be considered.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer: 

Candidate’s knowledge of various instrumentation systems and sensor applications in the aerospace industry is desirable.  Experience in gas and particle measurement systems, electro-optical systems, sensor wiring, terminations, egress, signal conditioning, data acquisition system operation and troubleshooting is highly desired.  Sensor types include, but are not limited to, strain gages, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, proximity and blade positioning optical measurement equipment. Successful candidates will have a good balance between mechanical and electrical aptitude, as well as strong communication and documentation skills.   Strong background in MS Office is required and experience in other signal acquisition or processing software is a plus.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
