About The Role

Reporting to the Employee Benefits Operations Lead, the role provides prompt, accurate and courteous service to support our client partners and their employees. 

 

This role is primarily responsible for retaining and growing an assigned book of business within the small market (<100 employees) through exceptional service, meaningful client engagement and providing proactive solutions.  The ideal candidate should have strong communication and organizational skills, a background in employee benefits or human resources, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Proactively manage an assigned book of business - maintains, develops, and grows relationships with clients and carrier partners.

Provides accurate, timely and professional service to clients and their employees.

Assists clients with service needs and resolves routine issues, such as claims and billing resolution, provider inquiries, provider referral issues and other administrative inquiries.

Manages renewal process – reviews renewal documents for accuracy, oversees preparation of marketing specifications and analysis and communicates plan changes, financial impact and recommendations to the client.

Prepares and coordinates employee benefits communication and facilitates open enrollment meetings.

Assists with HRIS/BenAdmin system implementation, renewal updates and testing/review.

Manages new carrier and implementations.

Reviews policies and contracts for accuracy.

Liaisons with eligibility team to assist with enrollment and terminations, including COBRA qualifying event notifications.

Processes incoming Broker of Record letters, maintains accurate policy and commission data in agency management system.

Requirements:

Proficiency with plan design structure as well as eligibility and rate structures. 

Strong ability to identify and resolve problems utilizing standard guidelines. 

Strong organizational and time management skills, along with a demonstrated attention to detail. 

Professional verbal and written communication skills. 

Knowledge and experience with benefit administration platforms including Ease, Employee Navigator, iSolved and others. 

Willingness to facilitate employee open enrollment meetings – both in person and virtually.

Understanding of federal and state legislation related to the insurance industry.

Ability to use multiple monitors to move quickly between software applications (Excel, Word, Adobe) and various web-based benefit administration systems. 

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or the recognized equivalent is required.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the employee benefits industry.

Life/Health Agent License required.

Pay Details:

Annual Salary: $65,000 - $70,000
