Employee Concerns/Nuclear Safety Culture Specialist

TerraPower is seeking a highly motivated Employee Concerns/Nuclear Safety Culture Specialist to be a part of the Regulatory Affairs team. This position reports to the Employee Concerns and Nuclear Safety Culture Program Manager and provides day-to-day support of TerraPower projects, developing, implementing, and maintaining Employee Concerns and Nuclear Safety Culture Programs to meet the established regulatory and program requirements. Will work in close consultation with all TerraPower staff to ensure regulatory requirements are identified and implemented in accordance with TerraPower policies and programs and assists in interactions with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy on these programs and associated issues, including discussions, investigations, preparing/reviewing reports and documentation, and responding to requests for information.

Responsibilities

•      Assisting in the successful development and implementation of the Employee Concerns Program and Nuclear Safety Culture Program

•      Interfacing with TerraPower personnel, partners and contractors to ensure program and regulatory requirements

•      Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining procedures and documentation in compliance with the program and regulatory standards

•      Evaluating employee concerns, making conclusions and recommendations in support of reported concerns

•      Preparing and reviewing technical material prepared by themselves and others

•      Reviewing correspondence to and from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy

•      Preparing or reviewing regulatory evaluations or assessments in these areas

•      Developing and presenting Training on the Employee Concerns and Nuclear Safety Culture Programs

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, a four-year university or equivalent experience

• Minimum 4 years’ experience related to Employee Concerns and Nuclear Safety Culture or similar programs

• Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards

• Self-Starter with ability to manage commitments and deadlines

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Professional

• Experience in interactions with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or the Department of Energy

• Excellent written and oral English skills.

• The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Job details

Salary Range Level 9: $99,041 - $148,561

Salary Range Level 10: $113,605 - $170,408

*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary bands.  Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.  This range is specific to Washington State.
