Employee Experience Director

The Director of Employee Experience plays a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the overall lifecycle for shoreside employees at Carnival Cruise Line and its parent company, Carnival Corporation. The position is responsible for creating and executing talent management strategies including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, onboarding, engagement, and culture. The role will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the organization to ensure a compliant and positive employee experience that aligns with our company values and objectives.

Job Functions:

Performance Management: Develop and execute performance management strategies and programs including goal setting, competency models, and evaluations. Lead the annual performance review cycle. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance expectations, goals, feedback mechanisms, and evaluations. Partner with HRIS on system needs and reporting, and with Communications on comprehensive marketing plan. Talent Review & Development: Develop and execute talent review approach to assess employee potential and align talent with strategic objectives. Collaborate with HRBPs and business leaders to identify development needs. Partner with L&D on customized individual development plans. Partner with HRIS and People Analytics teams to create user-friendly system and easy to digest dashboards. Succession Planning & Career Pathing: Develop and lead succession planning and business continuity strategies to ensure a pipeline of top talent for critical roles within the CCL organization. Partner with business on organizational design and career paths that enable employees to visualize and pursue meaningful career trajectories within the organization. Develop resources (including mentorship program) and provide coaching to employees seeking career development opportunities. This position will drive ownership/strategy in succession planning, talent development in working and collaborating with internal business partners from L&D and Compensation. Engagement: Develop and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement including in-person events and virtual engagement resources. Oversee employee recognition programs including years of service awards. Partner with People Analytics team on annual engagement survey and host focus groups as needed to gather insights and drive continuous improvement efforts. Culture: Champion of our culture and values throughout the employee experience. Collaborate with business leaders to weave our Culture Essentials through all aspects of our operations. Lead the company’s commitment to a workplace culture based on inclusion and the power of diversity. Onboarding: Oversee the strategy and delivery of comprehensive onboarding programs that facilitate seamless integration for new hires into the organization. Partner with Talent Acquisition to determine unique needs for certain populations such as ship-to-shore or sister line transfers. Compliance & Process Review: Provide on-going reviews of current programs and practices to ensure they align with company values and are compliant with the rules of the many geographies we operate in. Additionally, evaluate for efficiency and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement change management strategies to support critical evolution of the business to achieve results that are sustainable over time. Budget: Plan annual operating budget for all employee experience efforts including IT systems, recognition programs, marketing, and professional services. Forecast and track monthly spending in order to stay on target. Leadership: Hire, train, develop, motivate, and lead a team of HR professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to foster a high-performing and cohesive team environment. Additionally, serve as a leading advisor and consultant to other business leaders across the organization.

Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business required.  Master’s degree in human resources, Business preferred. Work Experience:  10+ years Leading a HR Team focused on employee experience and talent management, preferably in large global corporation required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, understanding of data analytics, performance management systems, assessment and competency frameworks, experience preparing presentation materials for executive audiences. Experience managing programs across several brands / on a global level preferred. Ability to deliver effective results, meet deadlines and targets. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.  Knowledgeable of talent management best practices. Licenses & Certifications:  Sr. Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)-HRCI, HR Certification upon hire preferred.

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.  Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities.  May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel:  none of very little travel likely.

Work Conditions:  Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s salary $120,800-$160,000.  Offers to the selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
