Employee Health Nurse

**Job Summary**
The Employee Health Nurse develops, implements, and manages employee health programs to promote the health, safety, and well-being of all staff. This role includes administering health screenings, immunizations, and care for work-related injuries, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. The Employee Health Nurse acts as a resource for health-related matters, provides education, and maintains detailed health records to support a safe and healthy workplace environment.
**Essential Functions**
+ Administers pre-employment health screenings, required annual health testing, and immunizations, including fit testing and inoculations, to meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
+ Provides care for on-duty work-related injuries or exposures, including testing, follow-up care, and documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
+ Acts as a resource for employees and leadership on health-related matters, including physician reports, workers' compensation claims, and workplace medical restrictions.
+ Monitors and tracks compliance with regulatory health requirements, including OSHA, CDC guidelines, and Joint Commission standards, preparing reports and making necessary recommendations.
+ Develops and delivers health education and illness prevention programs based on facility needs, providing in-service training to staff as required.
+ Maintains accurate and confidential employee health records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
+ Participates in organizational committees, including Employee Health/Safety Committee and Environment of Care, contributing to the development and implementation of safety and health initiatives.
+ Tracks and responds to outbreaks, epidemics, or public health emergencies, coordinating response efforts and administering necessary vaccinations or treatments.
+ Reviews and assesses trends in employee health data to identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend preventative strategies.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
**Qualifications**
+ 2-4 years of clinical nursing experience required
+ 1-3 years of experience in employee health, occupational health, or workers compensation preferred
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Knowledge of occupational health principles, including regulatory compliance, infection control, and workplace safety standards.
+ Proficiency in administering immunizations, conducting screenings, and managing medical records.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees, leadership, and external stakeholders.
+ Ability to develop and deliver health education and training programs.
+ Organizational and analytical skills to track compliance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
+ Familiarity with OSHA, CDC, and Joint Commission guidelines as they relate to employee health.
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
+ BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) required
+ COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse preferred
