Volt is immediately hiring for an Employee Health Safety Officer (Bilingual English/Spanish) in Valencia, California.

\r\n\r\n

This manufacturing facility creates highly engineered turboexpanders that are used in hydrocarbon processing, geothermal power generation, and other power-recovery or refrigeration applications in industrial processes worldwide.

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

As the Employee Health Safety Officer you will:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDevelop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.\r\n\tCreate work instructions for each of the positions. Develop safe operating procedures which identify and take account all relevant hazards.\r\n\tConduct regular site inspections, risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to identify potential environmental and safety hazards.\r\n\tCoordinate and lead emergency response drills and real-life situations, ensuring all staff are trained in safety procedures and crisis management.\r\n\tManage and oversee all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance, including scheduling regular inspections, servicing, and repairs to minimize downtime.\r\n\tLead continuous improvement initiatives in safety and environmental practices, facility management, and equipment performance.\r\n\tPrepare and manage the EHS budget, including maintenance costs, to ensure efficient resource allocation.\r\n\tServe as the primary contact for regulatory body audits and inspections, ensuring all practices are compliant and documentation is up to date.\r\n\tFacilitate training sessions for all employees on relevant safety, environmental, and maintenance protocols.\r\n\tMonitor and report on key performance indicators and metrics related to EHS and maintenance objectives.\r\n\tInvestigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.\r\n\tParticipate in reviews and assessment of risk management policies and protocols; make recommendations and implements modifications and improvements. Implement Corporate driven Environmental, Health and Safety strategies, programs and initiatives.\r\n\tConduct facility audits to ensure Policies and Procedures are being properly followed.\r\n\tManage hazardous substances and the disposal of waste materials, products, etc.\r\n\tAssist with waste minimization programs and strategies.\r\n\tCommunicate safety policy, practice and procedures throughout the company.\r\n\tStay up to date with current HSE regulations and industry best practices and proactively propose necessary changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance.\r\n\tMaintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, and training sessions and prepare reports as required.\r\n\tDiagnose problems, repairs or replaces parts, tests equipment, and makes adjustments. Manage equipment and supply needs, and coordinates ordering, scheduling deliveries, and installation.\r\n\tComplete and file monthly data in our safety management system\r\n\tChampion the safety-first culture by leading and engaging in safety improvement initiatives.\r\n\tLead and manage all safety training programs.\r\n\tFacilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings.\r\n\tEnsure completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting\r\n\r\n\r\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.\r\n\tAbility to read and write in both English and Spanish\r\n\t5+ years of experience in an EHS role within the manufacturing industry, with proven facility and equipment maintenance responsibilities.\r\n\tStrong knowledge of environmental regulations and OSHA standards.\r\n\tExcellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.\r\n\tProven ability to train and motivate staff in EHS practices.\r\n\tProficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.\r\n\tExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\r\n\tMust be detail-oriented and recognize importance of accuracy and timeliness in completing tasks.\r\n\tAbility to handle confidentiality in handling employee information and records.\r\n\tAbility to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.\r\n\tOSHA standards, NFPA requirements, NRS and NAC codes and requirements.\r\n\tAuthorized OSHA 500/510\r\n\tFundamental knowledge of presentation techniques including the use of audio/visual projection equipment during training courses, and how to deliver effective training.\r\n\tExperience operating computers, software and other electronic devices relative to training.\r\n\tProficient knowledge of Microsoft Power Point\r\n\tExperienced with Alchemy or other learning-based management programs.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Salary: $100K - 129K
\r\n*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
