Position Summary:
Responsible for the implementation of various safety programs such as respirator fit testing and ergonomic assessments. Provides administrative and project management support for safety related projects contributing towards timely and efficient operation of the organization. Under supervision, assists in the start-up, completion and/or maintenance of new or routine safety projects and programs.
Applies job skills and established policies and procedures to perform a variety of moderately difficult tasks. Ability to work independently on new and recurring assignments, applying good judgment in selecting and applying appropriate established procedures or techniques. Performs variances from routine under loose instruction or guidance.
Available to other Employee Occupational Health and Safety staff members for related projects.
Work Schedule:
casual/On-call, as needed
Required Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Two-year degree or 2+ years of job experience with safety responsibilities. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Driver’s license required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and ergonomic principles Ability to multitask Customer service skills Skilled in utilizing laptop computers and connecting laptops to external equipment Operates personal computer utilizing e-mail, database programs, word processing applications and spreadsheets. Operates fax machines, copier and telephone TSI equipment: Portacount, Qtrak Sound Level Meter Automobile for commuting to various sitesPreferred Qualifications:
