Log back in Employee Relations Manager Posting Number 2024-13902 Posted Date 2 months ago(9/17/2024 9:08 AM) Location : Location US-NY-New York Hybrid Remote Work Classification Hybrid: 60% to 80% Onsite Department Employee Relations School/Division Human Resources (WS1538) Compensation Grade Band 53 Union N/A FT/PT Full-Time Category Human Resources Position Summary Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Employee Relations, and in close partnership with the (Senior) Directors and Director of Labor and Employee Relations (“Directors”), manage a variety of employee and labor relations activities and initiatives, including, but not limited to, contract administration; contract negotiations; grievance and arbitration issues; interpretative guidance and support on multiple collective bargaining agreements; policy and procedure compliance (including but not limited to NYU's Protection of Minor's Policy); reporting, information requests, and metrics; and adherence to local, state, and federal laws governing employment practices. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in a related field or Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
Required Experience:
5+ years of related labor management and employee relations experience in both union and non-union environments, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include prior experience managing related projects and initiatives in similar environments.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years experience working in a college or university setting or large, complex not for profit organization.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge, technical mastery, skill and judgment in the application of relevant federal, state, and local employment and labor laws and regulations. Effective conflict resolution, facilitation, and consultation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Exceptional analytical skills, including the demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous fact-finding, problem-solving, and developing and recommending effective solutions that best address stakeholder concerns while mitigating organizational risk. Outstanding judgment, including the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times. Strong leadership, influence, and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both individually and collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00 to USD $135,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
