Compensation Range $115,000 - $130,000 / Year Position Overview: Eligible for a hybrid work schedule split between home & office. The Staff Relations Manager will minimize risks related to employee relations, employment practices, and claims (e.g., harassment, discrimination). You’ll conduct employment investigations, manage projects, and collaborate with HR and Operations leaders to ensure compliance and alignment with our Mission, Vision, and Values. Here’s more of what you’ll get to do: Employee Relations & Risk Mitigation Investigate claims of harassment, discrimination, and workplace misconduct. Collaborate with HR and Operations management to prevent and mitigate risks associated with employee relations, litigation, or agency claims, as well as develop strategies for union avoidance and workplace culture improvement to minimize unionization risks. Legal Compliance and HR Practices Ensure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, NLRA) and mitigate legal risks. Apply HR best practices and adapt policies to changes in labor laws and regulations. Project Management Lead or contribute to projects aimed at enhancing employment practices across the company. Ensure timely and effective execution of initiatives related to employee relations, compliance, and workplace improvements. Partnership with Leadership Collaborate with Regional HR and Operations leadership to implement effective employee relations practices company-wide. Advise leaders on managing sensitive employee matters, including performance issues, conflicts, and legal compliance. Promotion of Mission, Vision, and Values Advocate for the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values, integrating these principles into daily practices and employee relations policies. Foster a culture of respect, integrity, and inclusivity throughout the organization. Advocacy and Balance Act as a corporate advocate to uphold company policies while serving as a staff advocate to address employee concerns and promote a fair, equitable work environment. What we require: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in employee relations, HR management, or a similar field (corporate environment, restaurant, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or call center). Strong understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and best practices. Experience in union avoidance and managing sensitive employee relations issues. Legal expertise, including knowledge of state HR laws, EEOC position statements, depositions, and collaboration with internal/external legal counsel. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with diverse teams. Excellent communication, investigation, and interpersonal skills, including strong report-writing capabilities. Proven ability to navigate complex situations and balance company needs with employee advocacy. High level of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and empathy in a business environment with a diverse workforce. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Self-starter with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Successful track record as both an individual contributor and a team collaborator. Hands-on approach to delivering work products.
