Provides employee relations support and counsel to SSM business operators, Human Resources (HR) partners and People Services on a variety of employee and labor relations issues. Responsible for resolving and effectively triaging complex employee relations matters. Applies subject matter expertise and influence to help business partners identify and meet needs of the business, while also considering cultural and people implications.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides professional expertise in employee relations support to SSM business operators and HR partners while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.Resolves and makes recommendations regarding disciplinary actions. Provides timely and tactical solutions to address employee relations issues.Proactively identifies gaps and trends in policies and practices to improve the employee relations function.Provides coaching to leaders and HR partners on employee relations best practices.Ensures compliance with policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.Articulates and interprets policies and procedures to business leaders and HR team. Researches and provides advice from routine to complex issues in compliance with SSM Health policies and procedures.Triages employee relations escalations for complex situation handling.Provides detailed case management documentation.Collaborates and coordinates as necessary with HR market team and Employee Relations.Manages case communication within standards for People Services and Employee Relations COE.Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related fieldEXPERIENCE
Three years’ experience in Human Resources or related experience.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.Frequent keyboard use/data entry.Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.Rare climbing.REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
