The Employee Relations Specialist serves as a subject matter expert to advise Employees and Leaders on the proper procedure in handling employment matters and issues including employee relations and employment law matters. Influences others regarding policies, practices, and procedures. Develops employee relations solutions by collecting and analyzing information, presenting, and recommending courses of action.
**Responsibilities**
+ Partners with team members and leaders to resolve Employee Relations issues.
+ Proactively utilizes Employee Relations and HR insights, metrics, and trends to identify barriers to achieving business results/ shares findings, recommendations and leads efforts for improvement.
+ Escalation point to Human Resources related inquiries regarding investigations and other Employee Relations Cases.
+ Maintains knowledge and practices local and federal human resource- related laws and helps to strategically manage Employee Relations processes, programs and policies.
+ Serves as role model, ambassador, and educator of company values, Vision and Standards of Conduct.
+ Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
+ Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
+ Manages work maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality.
+ Acts as point of contact for team members and managers to resolve Employee Relations issues.
+ Partners with PSC, Field leaders and Practice Owners to resolve Employee Relations issues.
+ Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
+ Assists in response to any Human Resources related inquires including subpoenas and other legal requests as necessary.
+ Successfully manages projects while identifying and implementing opportunities for streamlining and increasing efficiency.
+ Manages expectations by communicating project status and issues; resolving concerns; analyzing time and cost issues; preparing reports.
+ Maintains related Employee documentation, legal documentation and employee complaints and resolution.
+ Coach/advise employees and management through sensitive HR issues to resolve conflict and seek workable solutions; conduct individual and/or group facilitations to foster effective communication and healthy workplace relationships among employees and management.
+ Interacts with all levels of leadership regarding legal compliance, discipline, terminations, and negotiated separations.
+ Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, management, and various agencies at all levels of the organization; use reason and de-escalation skills to manage difficult or emotional situations;
+ present facts and recommendations verbally and in writing.
+ Investigate work-related or compliance issues and prepares summary reports, conclusions and recommendations.
+ Provides advice and counsel to supervisors on employee issues as they relate to compliance with regulations and laws.
+ Manages work maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality. Works with a great deal of independent discretion in decision making and execution of responsibilities.
**Minimum Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or related field required.
+ 3-5 years of Human Resources experience with direct experience managing and resolving Employee Relations issues is required.
+ Thorough knowledge of current Federal and State employment laws.
+ Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
+ Effectively communicate with all levels of employees and demonstrate adaptable speaking and listening skills in a variety of situations.
+ Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
+ Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Base Pay Range: $68,000-75,000 (Actual pay may vary based on experience, performance, and qualifications.)
+ This position can be remotely based on geographic location, but if candidate is located within 30 minutes from our Chicago, IL office then hybrid will be the expectation.
