ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

We are a close-knit legal team that enjoys working on fun and challenging projects together.  We are looking for an experienced, business-savvy, and collaborative Employment Attorney to join our global legal team under the direction of Employment Counsel sitting in Spain and the United States. The Employment Attorney (you!) will report directly to Employment Counsel supporting Europe and Latin America, and collaborate closely with Employment Counsel supporting North America and India, to provide advice, guidance and counsel on labor and employment law issues relative to the global workforce. You will also work closely with company HR professionals, Payroll, Benefits , and local advisors, among other cross-functional partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Under Employment Counsel supervision: 

Internal employment legal advice: handle, advise, and provide legal support on a broad range of employment issues, including HR practices, performance management, terminations, recruiting, hiring, change of employment conditions, compensation and benefits, employee classification, consultants and contractors, sales commission and bonus plans, and exclusivity, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and standards. Labor Law Research: Stay updated on changes in labor laws in the countries where the company does business and provide proactive legal advice to internal stakeholders. Policy support: Review, draft and negotiate employment-related policies, programs, and agreements that balance legal risk with business impact Collaborate in the creation of legal training programs and provide training for managers and employees on various employment law issues
 

SUCCESSFUL EMPLOYMENT ATTORNEY CANDIDATES HAVE:

4+ years of experience as a labor and employment attorney in Spain, at both a law firm and in-house. Temporary experience in other areas of law are also valuable.  Extensive experience with a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including demonstrable experience with the majority of Responsibilities listed above Experience with US employment law and/or  employment laws across geographical regions is a strong plus. Strong and effective document drafting, negotiating, organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills  Ability to promote and contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages and supports inclusion to drive innovation and growth and reach the best solutions to complex problems Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams. Fluency in English. Knowledge of Italian, French or Portuguese would be a plus! You rock! Ability to manage and prioritize workload and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
