EMR Systems Manager (Remote)
Summary The position of EMR Systems Manager serves as the Business Product Owner for LHC EMR systems to include documentation and other related software systems as applicable. Leads the technical functions of system management for the company. Is responsible for the testing, installation, and maintenance of systems software such as operating systems, and communications programs. Promotes excellence in clinical services and documentation practices utilizing the EMR platforms. Reports to the Director of Application Support. Responsibilities Manages the corporate EMR systems and the Application Administrator team. Manages and mentors EMR Application Administrators to create a high performing team. Facilitates UAT and coordinates testing, training, and deployment of Vendor software updates. Implements and evaluates EMR training and leadership materials as needed. Performs diagnostic problem solving of systems software as needed. Acts as a liaison with vendors on problem resolution. Discusses and documents issues with the vendor and ensures timely follow up on open incidents submitted to Vendor. Identify, communicates and monitor issues and ensure fixes have been adequacy tested and resolved. On an on-going basis, monitors emails/phone calls in direct response to performance of the computer system to ensure superior system availability and reliability (24x7 component maybe required for position). Works directly with vendor to communicate issues identified. Is responsible for making recommendations for system improvement and operational process related to the EMR. Develops and maintains relationships with departments that utilize the EMR. This will include the following departments clinicals, operations, sales, RCM, accounting. Ensures availability and integrity of the EMR data. Works with the BI team to develop, improve and maintain reporting. Works with helpdesk manger to set up protocols to handle issues and communicates any outages. Recommends and proposes use of new features within vendor system as part of on-going performance improvement activities and due to company growth. Actively participates in project management and implementation of said features. On a daily basis, tracks the progress of assigned projects, follows up in a timely manner and works directly with management to ensure deadlines are met. Maintains contact with vendor software products to ensure an effective on-going vendor relationship. Is responsible for internal IT Change management process – submission of Change Request and adherence to process. Leverage ITIL practices to ensure consistent process and procedures. Leads projects with strong communications with stakeholders Manages EMR Admin Service Now ticketing queue, assigning tickets and assuring response and resolution SLA’s are met Completes annual reviews and engagement surveys at expected intervals Responsible for creating and managing departmental budget, approval of invoices and P.O’s as needed Any other task as assigned. Education and Experience BS / BA preferred. Consideration will be given to other academic credentials and industry certifications if Bachelor's degree is in progress and graduation is expected within 2 years At least three (3) years of system administration experience in Windows and MS Exchange environment Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in a progressive information systems environment installing, configuring and maintaining server operating systems and managing storage area networks Clinical degree preferred (RN, PT,etc) Skill Requirements Experience with installing, migrating and/or upgrading systems required Expert knowledge of electronic medical records systems and processes Healthcare and home health industry experience desired Possess strong project management skills Must have strong customer service and communication skills Effective ability to work both independently and within a team environment Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadlines Motivated, self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities Demonstrated ability to meet regular time and attendance requirements Experience in process improvement and/or creation Well organized, Detail oriented, and self-directed Prefer experience in ContinuLink and/or HCHB Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe software Experience with Service Management software or comparable ITSM software such as Manage-Engine and Service Now Company OverviewLHC Group is committed to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer.
