RESPONSIBILITIES:EMS Lecturers/Lab Assistants assist the Lead Instructor with lectures or the teaching and the refinement of laboratory skills and scenarios. EMS Lecturers/Lab Assistants will be able to: + Maintain collateral communications among Program Director(s), Medical Director(s), department chair(s), Clinical Coordinator, faculty, and students + Instruct students from lesson plans and instructional guides designed and approved by the Program Director/Lead Instructor + Supervise peer-review sessions + Track skills progression with learning management systems + Evaluate student competency utilizing program guidelines + Recommend changes to program guides and curriculum + Maintain licenses, certifications, and/or current clinical practice knowledge base through life-long learning and continuing education + Attend training, meetings and committees as available MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + State of Maine licensure (or previously licensed) as a Paramedic, Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist (RT), and/or Physician Assistant (PA-C), Nurse Practitioner (NP), and/or Physician (MD/DO) with a minimum of one (1) years continuous clinical experience in Emergency Medical Services, Urgent Care, Emergency Department, and/or Intensive Care + EMR and EMT lecturers and lab assistants may be licensed (or previously licensed) as an EMT + AEMT lecturers and lab assistants may be licensed (or previously licensed) as an AEMT + Maine Class C driver’s license or equivalent + Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education ( obtain within 4 weeks) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Associate’s Degree or higher + Maine EMS Instructor Coordinator + At least one (1) year active instructional experience + American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS Provider and/or Instructor + National Registry of EMTs certification + National Association of EMS Educators Instructor I course + National Associations of EMTs Provider and/or Instructor Live and Work in the Biddeford, Maine Community + Located along the Atlantic coastline with miles of beaches + Views of the Saco River to its west + Less than 20 minutes south of the Greater Portland Area + Less than two hours north of Boston. + Home to a growing population of diverse residents + Picturesque downtown + Maine's youngest city with a median age of 29 in the historic downtown + Thriving economy + Many recreational opportunities, including fishing, hiking, biking, public parks, and kayaking (https://heartofbiddeford.org/) Equal OpportunityThe School Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
