EMS Liaison - Quality Assurance - Days
**It's more than a career, it's a calling.** MO-SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis **Worker Type:** Regular **Job Highlights:** This is a full-time day-shift position working Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm. Responsible for quality assurance of EMS personnel transporting to the hospital. Reviewing run sheets, providing instruction/guidance to EMS personnel and visiting various fire department/ambulance services with approximately 6-8 miles of St. Mary's in Richmond Heights, MO. Ideal candidate will be a Paramedic with minimal of 3-5 years of experience and experience instructing other paramedics or working in a lead role that required mentorship of other EMS personnel. Will spend approximately 60% of time in-house and 40% of time traveling to other EMS sites. **Job Summary:** Serves as the liaison between the hospital and the emergency medical services (EMS) community. Coordinates monthly education, chief medical officer meetings, and rounding on EMS districts. **Job Responsibilities and Requirements:** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Ensures patient safety through compliance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures which result in zero preventable errors. + Works in collaboration with others to improve patient, employee, EMS, and physician satisfaction. + Participates in the creation of a financially effective facility through the efficient utilization of resources and identification for EMS growth opportunities. + Functions as a member of the team through active participation in educational coordination of EMS, staff meetings, committees, and special projects. + Demonstrates and promotes the principles of relationship based care through the development of healthy relationships with EMS, patients, staff and physicians. EDUCATION + Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience EXPERIENCE + No experience required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. + Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Frequent keyboard use/data entry. + Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Rare climbing.
